Step #2 – Create Or Acquire A Strong Niche-Targeted Product Or Service

As soon as you’ve identified a niche, your next step is to either create or find a product/service that you can sell to that niche.

In fact, these are really your best two options for making money on the Internet:

Option #1: Creating A Good Product And/Or Service And Selling It To Your Niche

Option #2: Selling An Existing Product And/Or Service To Your Niche

(In this FREE REPORT, we’ll mainly be covering the first Option.)

Obviously, creating your own sellable item(s) will allow you to be more profitable because you’ll get to keep the lion’s share of the profits.

That’s why we usually recommend this path to our clients. You can also intermingle this with being an affiliate, but it’s better to slow down and learn to walk before you can run.

People have always made money selling information. And people have always been interested in buying products/services that will help them avoid learning things the hard or costly way, namely, by doing it all on their own.

Essentially, you’re doing the research for them, and then sharing—or, better, selling—the results. The more research you’ve done and the more wisdom you can share with them, and the higher prices you can demand.

Let’s say you’re a jetski fanatic and you want to sell information on how to do jetski tricks. Your first move would be to discover exactly what jetski enthusiasts are looking for.

You could use WordTracker to find that out fairly easily.

  • Are they interested in learning new tricks?
  • Do they want to know the best jetskis to buy?
  • Are they looking for a video that teaches them how to drive/operate a jetski?
  • Or an E-book on getting started with jetskis?

Once you know what they’re looking for, then you can start creating content on your website that supplies that information to them.

In other words, give them what they want! Not only will they remember you for it, but they’ll also tell their jet ski friends about you.

Do you see what I mean? It’s really that simple. It’s all about finding a niche that truly interests you, researching what people are searching for in that niche, and then simply filling that need.

And, remember, content here is not necessarily words on the page. It could be video of jet ski tricks, photos, drawings, etc.

But what if you don’t have the time or desire to create your own information products?

Selling Existing Products / Services

If you don’t have time to create your own products, you can earn a very good income simply by selling other people’s or company’s products or services. You can do this either by acquiring the “resale rights” to a given product, or by promoting existing products/services as an “affiliate.”

Affiliate Marketing

Browse online and it won’t be long before you spot a ton of products sold using what’s known as “resale rights.” This is affiliate marketing.

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is simply promoting existing products or services on a commission only basis. Whenever you sell a product/service, you earn a commission.

Affiliate programs exist in just about every niche out there, so you should have no trouble finding profitable affiliate programs to join. Usually you find this in the “online marketing” niche, which is tremendously hot right now.

Many online marketers, in addition to making thousands of dollars monthly selling their own products and services, promote products as an affiliate. In other words, merchants pay them commissions on sales they make.

Now, it’s true that this can be very profitable. However, when you do this, it’s important to remember that you’ll have some fierce competitors—namely, the hundreds of others who bought those same resale rights to those particular products, just like you did!

Not only can you get stuck in a price war (as most buyers like you are savvy and will start searching for the lowest priced item), but it’s hard to give your buyer reasons besides price to buy from you and not the other guy.

Just remember there are pros and cons to affiliate marketing.

For example, one pro is that you can skip the hassle of payment processing and order fulfillment since the merchant whose products you’re selling takes care of this.

On the other hand, one con is that you won’t earn as much profit per sale, you’ll only get a commission.

There are literally thousands of affiliate programs online that you can peruse. You can easily find one in your area of interest without too much trouble. It’s also a good idea to get some basic training and learn some proven techniques.
